You're stuck in a cycle of ups and downs with your partner, and aren't sure how to move forward. You long for a healthy, deep connection with your partner, but feel isolated, frustrated, and dissatisfied.
DBT teaches skills to manage intense emotions, improve communication, and handle conflicts more effectively. It focuses on giving you tools on how to stay calm during difficult conversations, set healthy boundaries, and better understand your feelings as well as the feelings of others. DBT also helps you learn how to balance acceptance and change, so you can be more mindful and present in your relationships while making positive changes.
IPT focuses on improving communication and resolving conflicts in your relationships. Whether with a partner, family, or friends, IPT look at how these connections might be causing stress or emotional pain. Through IPT, you learn to understand and improve patterns in your interactions, express your needs more clearly, and cope with relationship challenges like grief, role changes, or interpersonal conflicts.
Psychodynamic therapy explores how past experiences, especially early relationships, shape the way you interact with others. It looks at unconscious patterns, such as repeating the same unhealthy behaviors or reacting in ways that don't seem to make sense. By understanding these patterns and the feelings behind them, you can develop healthier ways of connecting with others.
